Prenatal Yoga

The benefits of a yoga practice for pregnancy and birth come recommended by health practitioners as a safe form of exercise for the changes of a woman’s body during this special time of her and her baby’s life.

NO YOGA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Prenatal Yoga classes are designed for women from 12 weeks onwards (when mum-to-be usually starts to feel good in the pregnancy) up until birth. Prenatal Yoga classes run for 60 minutes. It is not necessary to have practiced yoga before, as prenatal classes are accessible to everyone as the postures are varied to accommodate your growing belly and changing body. Often this is the first time women experience the practice of yoga and the benefits of a yoga practice.

During classes you will be performing classical yoga postures, pranayama (breath work), pelvic floor muscle preparation for birth, restorative yoga practices, mediation and the use of chanting during labour.

Cost: $75 for 5 week term with one class per week (can attend anytime from 12 weeks) or $20 for a casual class.  

Pregnancy Yoga classes are offered as part of a 5 WEEK COURSE, as the benefits of yoga during pregnancy are best obtained by committing to a consistent, regular practice.  No terms run during the school holidays.

Casual places available when space allows with drop in cost $20.  Please check spaces available prior to drop in.

PLEASE NOTE: Introductory offers are NOT valid with prenatal yoga classes.  We also have a ‘NO-REFUND’ policy on the purchase of 5 week terms.  This is to ensure costs are covered including hire of venue and props for class.  However, if due to insufficient bookings, you WILL be refunded the full cost of the course term.

What To Bring:  Just your own yoga mat or you can hire one for $2 per class.  We sell good quality budget mats for $25 each in various colours.  You will be supplied with props including bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps during class.
